The school seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified professional to cover the maternity leave of our Director of Academic Support from January 2026. The successful candidate will be the school’s SENCo and lead a large, experienced and well-resourced team of colleagues providing support to pupils with identified SEND in the Upper School.
We would be keen to hear from candidates with experience in either the state or independent sectors. The position will involve leading the SEND Upper School provision and managing colleagues including three teachers of SEND. The role also requires effective collaboration with both pastoral and academic leaders to co-ordinate support for pupils in response to progress data. We aspire to attract new colleagues to reflect the socially and culturally diverse Bedford community, and welcome applications from all specialists from all backgrounds.
