SEN Teaching Assistant (Epilepsy Trained) – SEMH Secondary School
Location: Tower Hamlets, East London
Pay: £100 – £115 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, term time only
Remedy Education are currently recruiting for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with epilepsy training to join a specialist SEMH secondary school in Tower Hamlets.
This is a rewarding role supporting students with social, emotional and mental health needs, alongside medical needs, in a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
* Support pupils with epilepsy, ensuring safety and appropriate response to seizures
* Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
* Support students in accessing the curriculum and engaging in lessons
* Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to support individual learning plans
* Promote a safe, calm and structured learning environment
* Support students’ emotional regulation and social development
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working in SEMH or challenging behaviour settings
* Epilepsy training or experience supporting pupils with epilepsy
* Strong behaviour management and resilience
* A calm, patient and proactive approach
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
