WHAT’S THE ROLE?

We’re seeking an experienced Data Analyst to drive business insights and manage our data team (currently 3 people). Reporting to the Head of Online, you’ll ensure the right data reaches the right people at the right time. You’ll connect with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, presenting clear, actionable analysis and insights that support decision-making and business planning. This multifaceted role includes responsibilities in financial forecasting, sales analytics, and in-game player telemetry.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

* Working with the Head of Online, the Director of Technical Development and other key stakeholders to define and evolve the analytics roadmap to support Frontier’s goals.
* Collaborating with stakeholders across departments (including Product, Marketing, Finance, and Game teams) to ensure that data is collected accurately, analysed effectively, and communicated clearly.
* Translating complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences and which include errors, limitations and uncertainties.
* Conducting financial forecasting and performance modelling to support business planning.
* Exploring and presenting actionable insights from player behaviour and in-game telemetry.
* Working closely with engineering to ensure data pipelines and tracking systems are reliable and scalable.
* Building and maintaining dashboards, automated reporting and self-service tools using platforms such as Kibana, SQL, Python, and in-house tools.
* Providing people leadership and management to your direct report(s) through effective communication, objective setting, feedback, coaching, mentoring and support with career development to maintain an engaged, productive and inclusive team environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

* Highly numerate and ideally degree qualified in a relevant discipline e.g. Computer Science, Maths or Engineering.
* Significant experience in data and business analysis, preferably in games, entertainment, or tech.
* Coding and scripting experience in at least one of Python, R, or Bash.
* Strong knowledge of statistical modelling, data analysis, graphing and visualisations.
* Experience working with both Linux and Windows.
* Strong knowledge of a range of Databases (flatfile, relational, document, timeseries, etc).
* Experience using a range of ETL & ELT pipelines (dbt, Logstash, Python, Gitlab ci/cd, TeamCity, etc).
* Proficient in data querying tools and visualisation tools e.g. Athena, Kibana, Jupyter, SQL.
* Comfortable working with both structured and unstructured data.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to convey complex concepts to non-technical people.

BONUS IF YOU HAVE

* Video game industry experience, including knowledge of online game components and an understanding of player behaviour.
* Experience working with telemetry data from live service or multiplayer games.
* Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) and telemetry tracking systems.
* Previous people management experience (but we’re open to supporting someone stepping into a management role for the first time).

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

You will work with talented and passionate people to support, develop or publish our sophisticated and enduring games, in a creative, collaborative and inclusive environment. We love what we do, and we work hard to provide outstanding experiences for our players.

Wellbeing is a big focus at Frontier, and we are continually evolving how we can support our people. We encourage a healthy work/life balance and provide a range of wellbeing activities, initiatives and sessions to support both mental and physical health.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes a success-based annual bonus, share option schemes, life assurance, private family healthcare, flexitime working hours, enhanced maternity/paternity leave, in-house subsidised catering, support with relocation, a Cycle to Work scheme, free bike servicing, and social activities and events.

We strive to create an environment where everyone can fully demonstrate their capability and potential. If you therefore need any reasonable adjustments to support you during the recruitment process, please speak to your Talent Acquisition representative.
