Tree Watering Operative - Seasonal Role Location: Croydon & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time, Fixed Term (May - September 2026) Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday Salary: £12.71 - 13.50 Ph WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS This seasonal role is based in Croydon and the surrounding areas, running full-time from May to September 2026. The primary responsibility is to ensure the health and survival of newly planted trees during the critical summer months by delivering precise watering. The Tree Watering Operative will drive or navigate to designated sites to fill and position watering bags (Gator bags), perform basic health inspections to identify any signs of pests, diseases, or vandalism, and maintain accurate records of watering activities through a mobile application. The role requires compliance with specific water use protocols, including the correct handling of Thames Water Standpipes following mandatory training. This position demands physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work independently outdoors in various weather conditions.
