MET Technician / Vehicle Technician Required in Redhill
1. Pay: £45K - £50k Basic + Overtime
2. Hours: 45 hours per week Monday - Friday + Saturday mornings on a rota
Our Client a Manufacturer approved Accident Repair Centre with over 50 years trading experience are seeking a Bodyshop MET Technician / Vehicle Mechanic for their Crash Repair team based in Redhill, Surrey.

Please note our client will be willing to work with Vehicle Technicians from Car Dealerships or Independent Service centers who are looking to change sector within the Automotive industry we are working as well as experienced MET Technicians.
The successful MET Technician or Vehicle Technician will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar mechanical role, either with a main dealership or an independent Bodyshop. After training and onboarding you will be skilled in Stripping and Fitting Automotive Car Parts across the entire mechanical, electrical and trim spectrum within a Crash Repair Workshop have experience working in a quality focused accident repair environment. Our client is open to conversations for Semi Skilled or Improver MET Technicians to work with them and skill up.
What the MET Technician job involves:
3. Accurately and skillfully undertake the removal and replacement of mechanical, electrical and trim items on motor vehicles. Detect and diagnose any additional faults for further repairs.
4. Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with manufacturer and industry guidelines.
5. Ensure the highest standard of repairs are carried out to the manufacturer’s specification, specifically relating to stripping, fitting and trimming.
The Day to Day Duties of the MET Technician with our client includes:
6. Stripping and Fitting of vehicle parts including bumpers, trim, doors etc
7. Seek clarification in the event a work order is unclear or seems incorrect.
8. Observe, recognise and report on vehicle structure where necessary. Includes any/all faults or defects detected while working on the vehicle. Report any additional damage found when stripping the vehicle.
9. Report accurately and correctly all components, materials, consumables and hours used on each vehicle repair, keeping wastage of all material and consumables to a minimum and placing orders for replacement parts. Keep work area clean, tidy and free from hazards.
10. Interpret and implement technical instruction data.
11. Ensure alignment equipment is used accurately on all repairs.
12. Carry out all repairs according to best practice procedures. Complete assigned jobs with the estimated repair times. Meet acceptable safety and quality standards.
13. Check the condition and ensure the correct maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials.
14. Undertake all other tasks and activities as requested by the Bodyshop Manager.
