The Role An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Environment Business. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Cambridge area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites and projects in the region. You will work on our South Staffs Water Framework within our Environment Business, delivering schemes of varying sizes across the Water Industry. Key Responsibilities • Lead electrical engineering activity from project inception to completion utilising in-house, installation and construction resources • Deliver water M&E projects including Pumping Stations, Dosing Systems, Chlorination Plants and associated civil structures • Conduct early site investigation works with the client, design and project teams • Produce and review Health & Safety documentation (RAMS / Project Management Plans) • Procure materials and manage supplier engagement • Attend and undertake FATs, SATs, commissioning and client training • Attend and provide input into internal and client-facing design reviews • Work closely with the design team to collate information, contribute to Hazard Studies and shape optimal solutions • Support cost-to-complete / budget reviews with project delivery teams • Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors • Prepare subcontract orders and support variation claims • Liaise with Site Managers to ensure work is completed to programme, quality and budget • Develop and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) • Champion innovation while maintaining compliance with relevant standards • Produce and manage project programmes • Maintain high Health & Safety standards across all activity • Ensure accurate close-out of contractual documentation including As-Built drawings, O&M Manuals and Commissioning Manuals About You – Skills & Experience • Electrical ONC/HNC/BEng or NVQ equivalent • Proven experience within the Water Industry • ICA and/or ATEX experience (desirable but not essential) • Commercial and contractual awareness • Competent with MS Office including MS Project • Organised, structured and professional with a passion for excellence • Flexible, resilient and capable of building strong relationships at all levels • Strong communicator across email, phone and face-to-face • Customer-focused with strong influencing and negotiation skills • Experience of leading and managing engineering workstreams What We Can Offer in Return With an impressive order book of over £3.9 billion, we are one of the industry’s leading principal contractors, offering you the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most exciting projects.
