Overview
2026 Graduate Programme - Communities - Local Government (Engineering) at WSP in the UK & Ireland. We are recruiting Graduates for our Communities Engineering teams to work with local authorities on transport, urban regeneration, flood risk, funding and infrastructure projects. Roles are based in Gloucestershire, Lincoln, Exeter, Cardiff and Norfolk; location is fixed with limited flexibility.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of civil and structural engineering projects for local authorities, including transport, urban regeneration, flood risk and funding initiatives.
* Assist with inspections, assessments and option reports; contribute to design, procurement, and construction activities.
* Produce technical documentation, drawings and works packages; support supervision of works where required.
* Collaborate with clients, contractors and colleagues to ensure successful project outcomes.
Projects
* Examples include work with Lincolnshire County Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Norfolk County Council, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, Merthyr Tydfil Council and Bridgend Council

Qualifications
* Graduated with at least a 2:1 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject
* Interest in consulting and engineering; enthusiasm for the built environment; problem-solving mindset
* Availability to start in April or September 2026
* Ability to complete the application form in full and pass the online skill enabler assessment
