The role:
The department provides a full range of professional administrative, secretarial and clerical services which support clinical staff to deliver high quality, efficient and effective patient-centred care within Acute Services, in line with local and national standards.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Permanent, Full time

Shift pattern - Monday – Friday
Key responsibilities:
o Transcribe dictation from outpatient clinics, medical correspondence, reports, and discharge summaries.
o Enter and maintain patient data on clinical systems to support follow-up care.
o File clinic letters via Winscribe into the Clinical Portal (EPR).
o Maintain quality standards and meet typing turnaround times.
o Provide telephone cover for the department.
o Scan documents into the Clinical Portal.
o Process SCI Gateway referrals.
o Print all typed correspondence.
o Share responsibility for Health & Safety within the office.
o Participate in Personal Development Planning and Review.
o Comply with GDPR, Access to Health Records Act, Freedom of Information Act, and confidentiality legislation (e.g. Caldicott).
o Complete all required Statutory and Mandatory training.
o Promote and uphold NHS Scotland core values in daily work.
o Act as a role model for NHSGGC values, demonstrating professionalism, dignity, and respect.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
o Secretarial Studies certificate and advanced keyboard skills and accurate transcription speeds.
o Proven proficiency in English and medical terminology.
o Knowledge of PC Office software packages.
o Excellent organisational and communication skills.
