Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reed Accountancy & Finance, a well-established and reputable practice in Lisburn, is actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper. This is a permanent, office-based role with flexible hours, offering part-time or full-time options (4 or 5 days per week).
Role Responsibilities:
1. Record and process financial transactions such as sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
2. Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the correct ledgers and journals, following accounting standards and principles.
3. Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll taxes, and other statutory returns for clients.
4. Assist accountants in preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and other financial reports.
5. Prepare for Making Tax Digital compliance.
6. Communicate with clients, responding to queries and requests.
7. Maintain and organize accounting files and documents.
8. Perform other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician, preferably in an accountancy practice.
2. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
4. Ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
7. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
