Job Title: Medical Secretary

1. Job Summary
To provide efficient secretarial support to the Clinic and Consultant(s) on a daily basis. Your support is relied upon by consultants, clinicians, and patients to maintain an efficient and effective clinical facility. You will often be the first point of contact for users of the clinic and will proactively handle enquiries from patients and colleagues professionally. You will work in liaison with the Private Enquiry Manager to ensure a responsive and clear process for all new patients.
2. Key Accountabilities
* Typing clinical documents from Consultants' dictations, including medical reports
* Formatting, proofreading, and sending clinical letters through a secure platform
* Scanning relevant documentation onto our systems
* Taking telephone calls, answering patient queries, and taking messages
* Flexibility to cover reception when needed
* Booking and amending patient clinic appointments
* General housekeeping and filing
* Liaising with patients to book appointments, answer queries, and take messages for consultants
* Providing general office support during annual leave periods
* Regularly assessing working practices to identify improvements and enhance efficiency
