We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Northern Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee crucial accounting processes, ensure the accuracy of financial operations, and contribute to budgeting and performance analysis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial management to support organizational goals effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy before uploading them into Sage 300 accounting software.
• Supervise the workflow of an offsite vendor responsible for data entry tasks.
• Coordinate and manage weekly check runs and organizational payments.
• Reconcile bank accounts across the company to ensure financial accuracy.
• Participate in planning sessions to develop current and future budgets.
• Prepare and deliver financial reports to management as requested.
• Conduct work-in-process reviews and entries to maintain accurate records.
• Analyze historical and current job costs to support precise future estimating.
• Monitor project cost trends, forecast cash flow, and address financial deficiencies.
• Track and report financial performance across multiple construction projects to ensure compliance with budgets.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Sage 300.
• Familiarity with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
• Experience using tools such as Crystal Reports and CRM systems.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting processes and financial analysis.
• Ability to conduct audits and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Skilled in identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively with teams.
