This is a challenging, full-time role. Responsibilities include supporting RD SW delivery teams and the management team in managing risks, issues, and opportunities, ensuring consistent advice and guidance for both new and existing staff, including enhancements, new establishments, or TLB changes affecting regional responsibilities, DSTL, and RFCA.
As a Risk Manager, you will work with your team to ensure compliance with policies, instructions, and guidance. You will support the regional lead and interface across the business, including technical risk impact, taking action to improve risk and issue recording, mitigation, escalation, and management. You will record and manage risks and issues up the governance chain, collaborating across DIO and contractor teams.
You will provide motivation, engagement, and support, recognising individual contributions, and promoting a healthy, safe, and inclusive working environment. You will foster a culture that prioritises people's development and supports smarter ways of working.
Building strong, collaborative, and professional working relationships within your team, the Regional Technical Team, and other teams across the region, DIO, and the wider MOD will be essential to provide ongoing support across a diverse estate supporting Defence. You will lead stakeholder management and analysis activities and foster robust working relationships.
You will provide professional advice and guidance, prepare briefing materials to support operational activities, and support an effective communication strategy. You will seek and adopt good practices, ensuring the effective implementation of audit recommendations.
You will offer regional advice to DIO personnel concerning risk, corporate governance, parliamentary business, and business continuity, collaborating to ensure key control documents are identified, utilised, and maintained.
You will deliver in-house training or support to increase awareness and understanding of relevant tools, maintaining effective and cohesive actions across staff at all levels. You will also develop and improve the quality of DIO data and information to support decision-making.
A full UK driving licence is advantageous, as the region is geographically dispersed. The role is site-based with a requirement to travel to different locations, including occasional national travel, as public transport may not be available to many locations.
