Power BI & Power Apps Designer
Location: Remote with 4-5 days per month onsite in Scottish Central Belt. You must currently be located in the Scottish Central Belt.
Salary: £95,000 (pro rata) comprising base salary and daily delivery bonus.
Contract: 6 month fixed‑term employment (PAYE) with potential extensions or conversion to permanent.

Job Role
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, importing and managing data from Excel, SharePoint, Lakehouse, and Databricks. You will apply robust data modelling, transformation, and integration techniques to ensure reporting solutions are accurate, reliable, and scalable.
You will also design and deploy custom Power Apps (Canvas and Model‑driven) and architect complex Power Automate workflows to streamline business processes.
The role requires strong business analysis and stakeholder engagement skills, working with users to elicit requirements, translate them into functional designs, and create prototypes, dummy applications, or mock‑ups that can progress into full production builds.
Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, rapid prototyping, and iterative delivery is essential, along with excellent communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
* Over 10 years of relevant designer or developer experience
* At least 5 years Power BI experience
* At least 3 years Power Apps and Power Automate experience
* Experience with Lakehouse and Databricks
* Experience working in an agile team for over 5 years
* Business analysis skills and experience
Desirable Skills
* Experience building applications for the public sector using GOV.UK or Digital Scotland Design Systems
