Part-Time Finance Manager (FP&A Focus) – North East / Hybrid
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Finance Manager to join a growing consultancy environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong FP&A experience, excellent forecasting ability, and confidence working autonomously within a small, collaborative team.
Candidates based in Newcastle or the wider North East are strongly preferred to enable easy access to the office when required.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis (using Xero).
* Produce monthly management information, including timesheet and utilisation reporting.
* Build and update cashflow forecasts and full-year P&L forecasts using data extracted from Xero.
* Manage a low-volume AP and AR function, including raising approx. 10 sales invoices per month and coding 10–50 supplier invoices.
* Coordinate expenses and salary payments.
* Lead the annual budgeting cycle, preparing schedules and supporting financial planning.
* Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and Head of Finance, HR & Compliance.
* Liaise with external accounting and audit teams where necessary.
* Support the implementation of a new timesheet and operational system.
Requirements & Skills
* Fully qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA / AAT, or equivalent experience.
* Strong FP&A capability, particularly in Excel—comfortable preparing forecasts, cashflows, and financial analysis.
* Experience producing management accounts and working independently in a finance role.
* Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
* Curious, proactive, and highly organised, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Experience within a consultancy or professional services environment is advantageous.
Package
* Salary: £40,000–£50,000 pro rata (£20–£25 per hour)
* Hours: 12 hours per week
* Working pattern: Ideally 10am–2pm, Tues–Thurs, with flexibility for additional days if desired
