An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a passionate Sous Chef to join a truly unique kitchen concept set in the stunning surroundings of the South Downs. Representing one of the UK's most celebrated farm-to-table hospitality groups, this is far more than a standard kitchen role — it's a chance to be part of a creative, sustainable, and ever-evolving food philosophy.
This kitchen operates with a simple but powerful ethos: local, seasonal, and inspired. Ingredients are sourced within a 25-mile radius wherever possible, complemented by produce grown in the property's own kitchen garden. Menus change constantly, driven by what's fresh, available, and exciting — meaning no two days are ever the same.
As Sous Chef, you'll work closely with Head Chef, playing a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You'll take ownership of one of four sections, contribute to menu development, and support with ordering, rotas, and maintaining high health & safety standards.
This is a fast-paced, energetic kitchen where collaboration is everything. Expect daily interaction with gardeners, farmers, butchers, and fishmongers — a real connection to the ingredients and their story.
You'll also play an active role in a highly regarded apprenticeship programme, helping to train and develop the next generation of chefs — passing on the inspiration that brought you into the industry.
There is genuine scope for progression, including opportunities to work across multiple properties and step up into a Senior Sous Chef position.
