Job Summary
Senior Psychologist – Integrated Mental Health Team, HMP Preston (Category B Prison, Lancashire). Closing date: 19 June 2026.
Full time (Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm) with part‑time (3 days) possibilities. Salary: £54,908‑£65,268 per annum based on experience.
Location: HMP Preston, 2 Ribbleton Lane, Preston, Lancashire, PR1 5AB.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT).
* Undertake psychological assessments and deliver evidence‑based interventions.
* Support complex multi‑disciplinary formulations and trauma‑informed care.
* Deliver 1:1 and group interventions under the Trauma Informed "Making Sense" Programme.
* Teach and train healthcare and prison staff on psychological interventions.
* Contribute to audit, service evaluation and research, maintain records and the PTS dashboard.
* Manage and supervise an Assistant Psychologist; provide clinical supervision and training.
* Participate in service development, policy, and governance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered with a professional body (HCPC/BPS) or equivalent.
* Qualified as a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist.
* Experience working with psychological trauma.
* Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK and compliance with security vetting and Disclosure & Barring Service checks.
* UK professional registration current.
