Job Description:
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, is seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join their team on a major highways infrastructure project based in Aberdeen. This is a long-term contract opportunity offering stability, strong site support, and excellent working conditions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate setting out and surveying support across all stages of the works, ensuring technical compliance and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Setting out for earthworks, drainage, kerbing, pavements, and structures.
* Carrying out as-built surveys and producing detailed records.
* Working closely with the site management team to ensure programme and quality targets are met.
* Maintaining accurate site diaries, QA documentation, and ITPs.
* Liaising with design and commercial teams to resolve technical queries.
* Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with current H&S standards and site procedures.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Setting Out Engineer in highways or civil infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of road construction, drainage, and levels.
* Proficient with GPS, total station, and AutoCAD.
* CSCS card essential; SSSTS/SMSTS and First Aid desirable.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
