Role: IT Administrator – Contract to Permanent
Location: Harlow (near London) (on-site)
Day Rate: £125-£175 per day then £40k-£42k salary
We are looking for an experienced IT Administrator to join their Group IT function on a contract-to-permanent basis. This organisation offers a great opportunity to step into a hands‑on, business‑critical IT role with long‑term potential.
The Role
You’ll act as the primary on‑site IT support, taking ownership of day‑to‑day IT operations while delivering 1st and 2nd line support across both office and production environments. Working closely with the wider IT team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring system stability, supporting users, and driving improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main on‑site IT contact and escalation point
* Provide 1st and 2nd line support across office and operational environments
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues end‑to‑end, escalating where necessary
* Support M365 upgrades, migrations, and modernisation initiatives
* Manage users, permissions, mailboxes, and security policies
* Set up and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
* Support local infrastructure (networking, Wi‑Fi, printers, firewalls)
* Monitor system performance, patching, backups, and security
* Maintain IT asset, licence, and configuration records
* Support IT projects and continuous improvement initiatives
* Work with site stakeholders to understand IT needs and risks
* Ensure systems support security, compliance, and business continuity
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in an IT Administrator or senior support role
* Strong Microsoft 365 experience
* Experience with M365 migrations or upgrade projects
* Solid Windows desktop and server knowledge
* Good understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, firewalls, switching)
* Experience supporting users in operational or manufacturing environments
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Confident communicator with non‑technical users
* Able to work independently on‑site and collaborate remotely
* Security‑conscious with a good understanding of IT best practices
