Antenatal Clinic and Assessment Unit Lead Midwife

As we continue to expand and develop our maternity services, we are seeking an experienced, motivated, and passionate midwife for this senior leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our well-established maternity unit and requires someone who is very well organised, adaptable, knowledgeable, and has the ability to lead and inspire others.
It is vital you can demonstrate an understanding of antenatal care/services, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a flexible approach and commitment to work.
Our most recent CQC inspection recognised our maternity unit to have an open culture and staff were proud to work for our service, felt respected, supported and valued; the recent report found our staff and services to be focused on the needs of and engage well with birthing people and the community. We are keen to continuously develop and improve, and are looking for a compassionate and dedicated midwifery leader to support us in our vision.
Main duties of the job
The Antenatal Clinic and Assessment Unit lead midwife will ensure the delivery of an exceptional standard of safe, effective, andpersonalised maternity care to service users. You will achieve this through effective management of staff, finances, and resources while working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams, senior leadership team, stakeholders, and service user groups.
You will be an exemplary role model for all staff, leading by example and empowering staff to constantly develop and improve patient care.In this role you will be visible, accessible, and provide clinical and managerial leadership on Antenatal Clinic and Assessment Unit and will provide management support to the maternity matrons and senior leadership team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered midwife with current NMC registration
* Degree in midwifery or working towards
* Evidence of CPD
* Recognised leadership course
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience of NHS midwifery, particularly antenatal care
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage own work without supervision, work flexibly, and prioritise
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Motivated to lead a team and enable development
Knowledge
* Knowledge of risk management, clinical governance and audit
