A well-regarded primary school in Sherborne is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time position, ideal for a qualified SENCO who is ready to lead and develop inclusive practices across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND provision
Coordinate and oversee support for pupils with special educational needs
Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support plans
Requirements:
Proven experience working as a SENCO in a primary school setting
National Award for SEN Coordination (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
A commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
