Acute Frailty, Care of the Elderly with Orthogeriatrics and General Care of the Elderly

Salary Scale - £45,504 - £71,550 per annum (pro rata if part time)
Applications are invited from trainee doctors who have completed UK Foundation Programmes to apply for the positions of Frailty Clinical Development Fellows (CDF).
These three exciting posts offer working in the Ageing and Health Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. NHS Forth Valley has previously completed a National Frailty Collaborative working in partnership with other health boards in Scotland and Healthcare Improvement Scotland to develop services to improve outcomes and experience for older people living with frailty presenting to acute services. We are continuing to build on this work to further develop and improve services for older people including the evolution of our newly launched Hospital at Home Service and most recently our Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) pathways.
The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to be an integral part of this work along will all other aspects of the care of frail older people that the service delivers. This will be supported through dedicated development time across the year. Clinical work will comprise working in one of the sub specialties of acute frailty, peri-operative and orthogeriatric care, delirium, movement disorders, palliative and anticipatory care. There will also be dedicated in-house teaching time afforded for the successful applicant each week. Further, there will be the opportunity to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
