About Bath College

Welcome to Bath College, a vibrant and successful College with two campuses, one in the centre of Bath and one in the rural setting of Radstock.

We pride ourselves on providing training for the region’s future workforce by offering courses in both vocational and traditional academic subjects to students from across Bath, Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond.

Permanent contract - Part time/3 days a week, 52 weeks per year

Salary posted is the full time equivalent and will attract a competitive market supplement in addition to salary for the right candidate

To work with the Curriculum and Apprenticeship Managers to deliver a high-quality Construction in the Built Environment curriculum including classroom/workshop theory and practical teaching. This role will include onsite (employer based) assessments and reviews of apprentices, that meets with Bath College quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

1. To deliver learning of a range of units on the BTEC Nationals and Higher Nationals Construction / Construction in the Built Environment / Civil Engineering programmes using appropriate teaching methods.
2. Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
3. Plan and deliver specialist sessions using appropriate teaching methods whilst embedding the promotion of diversity within the Built Environment/Civil Engineering Sector, and the College.
4. To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
5. To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade B or above

Degree in Construction or

HND in Construction/Civil Engineering

TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)

Teaching Qualification (or willing to work towards)

Safeguarding & Prevent Level 1 certificate or willingness to work towards this
