Job Role: Electrical Supervisor
Location: HMP Whitemoor – Longhill Rd, March PE15 0PR
Salary: £46,775.42 per annum +5% additional for weekend work
Contract: Permanent, full time – 39 hours per week, Monday to Sunday
Overview
We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Electrician with experience leading teams to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Whitemoor, a High‑Security Adult Male prison. Our team works Monday to Sunday as a supportive and driven family, aiming to create a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff, visitors and the wider community.
HMP Whitemoor operates like a self‑contained city, and as part of the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed to driving the smooth and safe operation of the institution—every action impacts everyone on site.
As an Electrical Supervisor you will work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues from a range of trades, all dedicated to providing a safe and secure environment for all.
Requirements
* Five years’ experience as an electrician or equivalent
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical and building services
* Experience of supervising staff
* Full driving licence, preferably with D1
* C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
* Certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition)
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills

Future Plans
GFSL has been notified by its shareholder (MOJ) that the provision of FM services will in the future be delivered by the private sector. Following a successful procurement process, GFSL’s services will complete transfer to a private‑sector provider(s) no sooner than August 2027.
