LGC is looking for a dedicated Biochemist to join our world-class team for a 6-month research role! This opportunity is outstanding because you will play a crucial part in our clinical and forensic PT/EQA schemes, ensuring flawless preparation and testing of samples. Additionally, you'll contribute to innovative development projects that push the boundaries of our scientific capabilities!
Key responsibilities
1. We are looking for someone to undertake the production of PT/EQA test samples and perform rigorous quality control assessments
2. Ensure the control and purchase of laboratory consumables
3. Monitor and prioritize work to strictly adhere to production and reporting deadlines
4. Maintain laboratory records and documents in line with current procedures
5. Successfully implement development project work and coordinate development tasks as needed
6. Contribute to the achievement of team and individual objectives with a collaborative spirit
7. Adhere to laboratory and company health and safety procedures, preparing COSHH assessments
8. Proactively identify and determine areas for improvement in laboratory efficiency, productivity, and quality
9. Carry out additional duties or tasks as directed, commensurate with the role and position
Qualifications

10. Degree or equivalent experience in a scientific subject area, preferably chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field
11. Proven track record of working within a laboratory environment
12. Outstanding organizational ability
13. Methodical and detailed approach to work
14. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
15. Computer literate with proficiency in relevant software
16. Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
17. Previous experience working with biological fluids is advantageous
