The Role in Practice In this position, you will be the first point of contact for all IT-related matters within the organisation. Whether its resolving system issues, maintaining hardware, or strengthening network security, you will ensure our technology runs smoothly and efficiently. You will work closely with management and staff to maintain secure systems, minimise downtime, and introduce improvements where needed. Core Responsibilities Your work will involve maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, installing and configuring devices, and supporting cloud-based services such as Microsoft 365. You will monitor networks, manage user access permissions, perform regular system backups, and ensure cybersecurity measures are always up to date. You will also assist with onboarding new employees by setting up equipment and ensuring all systems are ready from day one. Maintaining accurate documentation of systems, updates, and IT assets will form an important part of the role. Skills and Experience Required We are seeking someone with prior experience in IT support or technical services. You should have strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft applications, and basic networking principles such as routers, switches, and TCP/IP. An understanding of cybersecurity practices, system maintenance, and hardware diagnostics is essential. The ideal candidate will be organised, calm under pressure, and confident when explaining technical matters to non-technical colleagues. Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA or Microsoft qualifications) are desirable but not essential if supported by strong practical experience.
