The Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS) manages important environmental monitoring systems and datasets. As a Technical Advisor you will support Water Quality systems and data, and other systems as needed.
Responsibilities
* Managing user accounts and troubleshooting issues, especially with the new My Environment application.
* Updating, improving and maintaining datasets.
* Responding to internal and external data requests.
* Supporting system improvement and upgrade projects.

Team: The MDS team in Instrument and Systems provides support to the business by maintaining important environmental monitoring systems for Water Quality, Fish, Biology, Ecology, and Water Quantity. We are a friendly, dispersed team of enthusiastic specialists.
Experience/Skills Required
* Experience with large complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* Motivated, organised, friendly, helpful, detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a dispersed team.
* Proactive problem solver.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
Desirable Experience/Skills
* Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems.
* Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R.
* Working knowledge of water quality monitoring.
Work Location
Location is flexible but requires a base at one of our offices across England and presence there. Hybrid home/office working is offered; some travel is expected.

Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams towards the end of December / Beginning of Jan. Interview dates will be confirmed for candidates invited to interview.
