Band 5 - Employee Relations Advisor (Sickness Support) Job Summary: As an ER Advisor within the sickness support team, you will provide expert advice and case management support to managers dealing with sickness absence across a large, unionised NHS Trust. This role is ideal for someone with solid ER experience who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is comfortable working across various locations. Location: Croydon (4 days on site 1 day WFH) Job Type: Temporary Duration of booking: Expected to last 4 months with possible extension Proposed start date: ASAP Pay Rates: Up to £20.16 per hour PAYE inclusive of holiday pay Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week / Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm Sector: Healthcare Based: Office / Hospital Key Responsibilities: Manage a personal caseload of sickness absence cases, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Coach and support line managers in applying absence management policies and processes. Liaise with Occupational Health and HR colleagues to coordinate return-to-work plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all ER activities. Participate in site visits and community work to support managers in different operational areas. Requirements: Demonstrated experience handling sickness-related ER cases. Familiarity with unionised environments and NHS or large public sector organisations. Confident in coaching and advising managers. Willing and able to work on-site (hospital and community) at least 4 days per week. Organised, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.
