Brown Brothers in Kirkconnel are currently looking for full-time Hygiene Operatives. There are three shift patterns and the hours of work are 6.00am - 2.00pm Monday to Friday OR 1.55pm - 9.55pm Monday to Friday OR 10.00pm - 6.00am Monday to Friday. The rate of pay, if over 18, is £12.60 an hour.
Previous experience is not required as successful candidates will receive full training.
Job Purpose
To ensure that the fabric of the building is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
To be involved where necessary to clean and sterilise miscellaneous equipment and machinery.
To enhance the clean as you go policy.
Key Accountabilities
Housekeeping:
* To ensure all areas of the factory are kept free from obstruction by refuse and to remove such to despatch area for collection on an ongoing basis throughout the day.
* To ensure all hand wash stations are kept clean with an adequate supply of bactericidal soap and hand towels at all times.
* To ensure that the boot washing facility is kept clean and water free-flowing
Machinery Cleanliness:
* To dismantle "in a safe manner so as to avoid the risk of injury to oneself and others" machinery and to clean and sanitise such machinery to correct high standard.
* To ensure that miscellaneous equipment, such as cooling cooling racks, are cleaned on an on-going basis to prevent cross contamination and foreign body control.
General Cleanliness:
* To ensure that all walls, ceilings, coving strips, door handles etc are kept hygienically clean on an on-going basis. To ensure drains are thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis. To ensure that all cleaning apparatus is kept clean and stored in correct manner.
