Data Collection and Research Coordinator

The Role

Derby Museums is looking for a Data Collection and Research Coordinator. Working as part of the development team, you will lead on data collection, analysis and reporting to support business planning, and to help evidence the impact of our work to funders, stakeholders and supporters.

A key part of the role will be the streamlining of our data collection, reporting and evaluation processes and you will continue a review of potential options to move us forward in this area. You will also take a lead on reporting data through Illuminate (the Arts Council England commissioned audience data platform) as well as leading on data collection for our annual data survey and to support evidencing our impact through our annual impact report.

Alongside all of this, you will have specific responsibility for leading on the use of our current CRM system Subscriber, financial monitoring and reporting of specific grant funded projects including our 23-26 UK Creative Community Fellows Transforming Leadership programme, and for ensuring audience data is gathered and reported on across our sites.


Role Purpose:

To lead on the planning and implementation of quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and reporting at Derby Museums to:

1. Support organisational learning and business planning.
2. Evidence the impact of our work and make the case to funders and other key stakeholders for future investment in our museum and charitable activities.
3. Lead on the effective administration and implementation of Derby Museums CRM system.
4. Lead on supporting the financial and narrative reporting for specific grant funded projects.


The Person

You will be experienced in working with a wide range of people, highly organised with high levels of enthusiasm and commitment. You will be able to communicate confidently with stakeholders and able to translate business needs into data solutions. Experience of working in a similar role either at another museum, visitor attraction or charity or commercial organisation, experience of using tools like Power BI or Tableau and/or of implementing a new CRM system would be advantageous. You will be a solutions focused team player who can respond to challenges whilst working efficiently to tight deadlines.

Employee Benefits:

20 days (pro rata) + bank holidays. Derby Museums is committed to flexible working arrangements including the option for some home-working. A mileage allowance is payable on authorised business travel.
