We have several excellent opportunities to join our creative and friendly service.

This year, our service has led on local authority wide initiatives, such as Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA), our nationally renowned literacy project and supporting Care Experienced children as part of joint work with the Virtual School and our children's homes. The service continues to play a central role in operationalising Staffordshire's new exciting Enhanced APDR pathway which is a pre-statutory, co-produced and collaborative framework. This ensures that our EP and AEP time is spent supporting schools improve their Graduated Approach rather than writing reports for EHCNA.

We continue to use psychology in everything we do to change and improve the life experiences of children and families in Staffordshire.

We are looking for four new assistant to join us who will add to our diverse practice alongside our fantastic teams of EPs and Assistants, and who wants to work creatively in applying psychology to achieve great outcomes for our children and families in Staffordshire.

You'll be supported to develop your psychological practice through our CPD opportunities, peer supervision and the opportunity to collaborate with team members with similar interests.

2 x posts are full time permanent (September 2025 start) - based in Lichfield and Stafford

2 x posts are fixed term for one year (September 2025-August 2026) -1 based Burton and 1 based in Stafford.

Main Responsibilities

You will be embedded in our district teams across Staffordshire, and as such you will be an integral part of working with Educational Psychologists on:

* early years work and Enhanced Assess, Plan, Do, Review (EAPDR)
* schoolbased preventative work
* commissioned work such as the wrap around project
* research
* team and service development groups
* Continuous Professional Development (CPD) initiatives
The Ideal Candidate

You will:

* hold a first degree in psychology or postgraduate equivalent qualification
* be eager to add to our diverse practice, working creatively in applying psychology to achieve great outcomes for our children and families in Staffordshire.
* be able to demonstrate a range of experience working with children and young people, demonstrating the outcomes for the work that you have undertaken.

We will hold a two stage interview process, with remote interviews held in the week beginning 23rd June and second stage face to face interviews in the week of 4th July 2025 ( to be confirmed).
