Job Summary
As part of this role, you will support the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager for Dispensaries to ensure that both dispensaries meet quality and activity targets. You will manage the workload of the dispensary and supervise staff on a day-to-day basis, organising rotas and cover for any unexpected staff absences to ensure a safe, effective, and timely service in accordance with current legislation and guidance and supported by policies and procedures. You will also hold HR management responsibilities. The post holder will participate in the medicines management seven‑day supply service. The trust will deliver a high-quality medicines optimisation and pharmaceutical care service to all service users, carers and healthcare professionals. To lead in providing a comprehensive dispensary service to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust supported by appropriate policies & procedures. The post holder is managerially responsible for the day‑to‑day co‑ordination, management & operation of the dispensary rota & service in line with the hours of operation. The post holder will ensure users receive their medicines accurately and safely, in a timely manner and will be expected to work flexibly in line with the hours of operation.
Key Responsibilities

* Participate in the medicines management seven‑day supply service and contribute to high‑quality medicines optimisation and pharmaceutical care.
* Lead and provide a comprehensive dispensary service supported by appropriate policies & procedures.
* Coordinate, manage and operate the dispensary rota & service in line with the hours of operation.
* Ensure users receive their medicines accurately and safely in a timely manner.
* Work flexibly in line with the hours of operation.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience as an astute and experienced Pharmacy Technician.
* Extensive knowledge of dispensary services.
* Core leadership and organisational skills and ability to inspire and motivate others.
* Ability to cross‑cover at Hollins Park Hospital Warrington on a regular basis.
* Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy staff and workload in a high‑volume environment.
