Job Description:

Hybrid Customer Service Specialist | Northampton | £28,800 - £32,000 + Benefits

(Initially 5 days onsite until probation completion; post-probation: 2 days remote, 3 days office)

Shifts: 8am-5pm and 10am-7pm | 1 in 4 Saturdays (with a weekday off in lieu)

We're looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join a dynamic and passionate team. This role involves handling complex customer concerns, providing resolution and reassurance when it matters most.


Responsibilities:

* Support individuals through challenging queries, including financial disputes, ombudsman cases, and escalations.
* Turn difficult moments into positive outcomes through investigation, communication, and care.
* Handle escalated cases with ownership, compassion, and accuracy.
* Understand issues deeply, including why they matter.
* Provide fair, empathetic resolutions, building trust.
* Collaborate with internal teams (legal, logistics, finance).
* Represent the business professionally externally.
* Document cases thoroughly for learning and improvement.
* Identify recurring themes and contribute to system enhancements.


Requirements:

* Ability to connect with people and understand their concerns.
* Calmness under pressure, especially in emotional situations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good judgment balancing customer needs and business interests.
* Experience in customer-facing or complaints handling roles (retail, hospitality, etc. a plus).
* Confidence with CRM tools and case management technology.
* Problem-solving mindset, always seeking improvement.
