The OpportunityA well-established and values-driven charity based in Bath is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong transactional finance experience who is looking for flexibility and meaningful work within a supportive environment.You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day finance operations, and contributing to continuous improvement across finance processes.7 hours over 3 days or 5 hours over 4 days (20 hours total per week) | 2 days mandatory on-site
Key Responsibilities
1. Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
2. Ensuring appropriate approval processes are followed
3. Preparing and processing payment runs, including BACS
4. Handling supplier queries effectively
5. Raising invoices on a monthly and ad hoc basis
6. Reconciling customer accounts
7. Allocating iing payments and resolving discrepancies
8. Supporting regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
9. Investigating and resolving reconciling differences
10. Assisting with preparation of monthly management information
11. Supporting finance colleagues with transactional and reporting tasks
12. Responding to internal and external finance queries
13. Identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes
14. Supporting implementation of new finance procedures where appropriate
About YouEssential
15. Previous experience in a finance or bookkeeping role
16. AAT qualified or studying towards (or equivalent experience)
17. Strong Excel skills (including lookups and basic data analysis)
18. High attention to detail and accuracy
19. Strongmunication skills and ability to build relationships across teams
20. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable
21. Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector
22. Familiarity with accounting software ( QuickBooks or similar)
23. Experience working with multiple cost centres or budgets
