About the role: As an Assistant Financial Accountant at Harding, you’ll play a key role in managing indirect tax processes and supporting compliance activities. Reporting to our Compliance Finance Manager, you’ll handle critical financial tasks, including VAT returns, reconciliations, and audits, while building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met. Based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis – 1/2 days per week We would be happy to speak to candidates that are looking for a role on a part time basis Compensation: Competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 26 days annual leave What you will be doing: In this role, you’ll take ownership of preparing and submitting monthly UK VAT returns, while also compiling and verifying data for international VAT/GST filings through fiscal representatives. You’ll keep everything on track by reconciling VAT control accounts, posting journals for VAT system entries and exchange rate differences, and supporting quarterly forecasts and VAT cashflow planning. Beyond the numbers, you’ll get involved in audits and compliance projects, working closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure deadlines are met and processes run smoothly.
