JOB DESCRIPTION
SDT is a post 16 training provider in our 26th year working in Sutton. The majority of our cohort is made up of young people with SEND and/or Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). An increasing number of young people in the London Borough of Sutton who have an EHCP are becoming NEET (not in employment, education or training) due to attitudes and behaviours outlined in their support plans, due to safeguarding issues and/or Youth Justice Service (YJS) involvement. Our Choices provision is designed to give these young people the opportunity to gain a qualification while developing strategies to enable them to progress on to their chosen vocation within SDT, FE College or Employment.
JOB TITLE Construction Tutor - Choices.
JOB PURPOSETo deliver Entry 3 and Level 1 Basic Bricklaying & Basic Electrics.
RESPONSIBLE TOThe Study Programme Manager
The candidate will:
1.Hold level 2 Construction qualifications
2.Have experience in delivering to young people
3.Have good verbal and written communication skills.
4.Be computer literate
5.Have good time management and organisational skills.
6.Be willing to undertake additional training. (Assessor awards/AET)
7.Have an understanding of learners who have Education Health Care Plans
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.Delivery of Main aim qualification.
2.Monitor learner attendance, provide pastoral support and complete learner reviews.
3.Create and follow Schemes of Work & Lesson plans. Liaise with IQA.
4.Attend appointments/write reports with/for parents/carers Children’s Services, Virtual Schools & Local Authorities
5.Complete daily administrative tasks, as required.
6.Complete Continual Professional Development.
7.Comply with all regulations required by Ofsted and The Department for Education

30,000=35,000 based in experience and qualifications
