This is an opportunity for an Assistant/Associate Practitioner in Mammography to join our friendly and motivated multidisciplinary team at the Cheshire & Stockport Breast Screening Programme. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Practitioner in Mammography with Level 4 mammography associate qualification or equivalent.
You will need excellent communications skills and a knowledge of the National Health Breast Screening Programme and its aims. Knowledge of the symptomatic breast cancer pathway is also beneficial.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high quality mammography service as part of the NHSBSP (National Health Service Breast Screening Programme) and Symptomatic Service under the supervision of a qualified mammographer.
Work within achieved competencies to agreed protocols and towards further competencies which may be in a wider diagnostic modality as dictated by departmental workload.
To provide assistance to Radiologists, Radiographers and other staff in all areas of the department.
Screening and symptomatic services are offered at the Macclesfield Breast screening centre, with 3 Siemens digital mammography sets, two with stereotactic biopsy and tomosynthesis attachment.
You will need to have a flexible approach to service provision which will involve evening and weekend clinics at the Breast Screening Centre at Macclesfield and Mobile Van sites. Travel is essential to this role, so please demonstrate how you would meet these requirements. A genuine occupational qualification applies to these posts under section 6 of the Sex Discrimination Act of 1975 and therefore they are restricted to female applicants only.
Mobile screening in Stockport is provided on a mobile van with Siemens digital mammography.

Qualifications
* Foundation Degree in Assisting Professional Practice or equivalent qualification or apprenticeship
* GCSE Maths and English Grades A-C, 4-9 or Functional Skills Maths level 2, Functional Skills level 2 or equivalent
Experience
* Experience of working in a Breast Screening Programme
* Understanding of working in a regulated clinical environment or exposure to radiation safety
* Experience of working in a Radiology unit
