Background
CSGUoL and the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) are recruiting for a candidate to develop data science capabilities that enhance automation, scalability, and efficiency at NCDV, enabling improved support, faster response times, and better outcomes for victims of domestic abuse.
NCDV is a not-for-profit organisation helping victims/survivors of domestic abuse to obtain protection through the court system. The KTP will support NCDV to increase the capacity at NCDV to generate more court document bundles and therefore help more victims of domestic abuse attain non molestation orders against perpetrators of abuse.
Responsibilities
The candidate will apply their knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to NCDV's data science architecture to identify and build efficiencies and added value.
Specifically, the candidate will structure and query 'siloed' datasets using natural language inputs, integrating digital tools to automate processes within the collection and collation of data and information from multiple sources, and embed transcription of audio data using automated speech recognition (ASR) tools such as Whisper or Amazon Transcribe, followed by manual QA for accuracy.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with an MSc (distinction/merit) or other higher degree in Data Science or AI. Knowledge of applying Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow and SQL in a commercial environment is essential, as is experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
The ideal candidate will have experience of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and experience of working in commercial environments applying Data Science tools and methodologies, as well as knowledge of Azure/AWS.
