An opportunity is available within our Maternity Antenatal Clinic in Prince Charles Hospital for an enthusiastic, flexible Health Care Support Worker.


Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated Band 2 Health Care Support Worker with an interest in patient care services to join our friendly, busy team.

The successful applicant will be based at the antenatal clinic, Prince Charles Hospital and Ysbyty Cwm Cynon Hospital, but may be expected to work at other sites within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board as required.

Applicants will be employed on a permanent contract basis.

This is an exciting role for the successful applicant.

The Post Holder will undertake delegated duties, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or Midwife, and following a period of training and completion of core competencies.

This post does not carry managerial responsibility. They will always work under the direction and supervision of a qualified member of staff.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. * NVQ 2/3


Experience

* Previous experience of working in a health care setting


Skills

* Good communication- verbal and written
* IT skills including email and internet
* Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
