Lead Transducer Engineer required in Horsham. Reporting to the Director of Acoustic Research, the Lead Transducer Engineer will play a key role in the research and advancement of acoustic transducers and related technologies. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the innovation and design of a variety of audio products, including loudspeakers, headphones, and automotive sound systems. Lead Transducer Engineer Job Overview This role will involve both the oversight and execution of engineering activities, including: Managing and coordinating all aspects of transducer development Contributing hands-on to selected engineering projects Primary Duties Reporting to the Director of Acoustic Research, the Lead Transducer Engineer will be responsible for: Supervising a small team of transducer engineers Planning, assigning, and tracking engineering tasks Supporting team development through training and process optimization Ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of measurement tools and lab facilities Collaborating with product development teams, the Lead Transducer Engineer will also undertake the following technical responsibilities: Performing component and system-level simulations (electromagnetic, mechanical, and acoustic) using finite element methods Conducting measurements of transducers and speaker systems Documenting technical results and developing standard procedures and design best practices Executing additional engineering tasks as required Lead Transducer Engineer Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent in acoustics, physics, or electronic engineering Strong understanding of the physics behind electrodynamic transducers, including lumped element modelling, non-linear distortion, and rub & buzz diagnostics Proven experience in leading engineering or cross-disciplinary teams Capable of managing and delivering technical projects efficiently Skilled in preparing and presenting clear, accurate technical reports Experience with finite element tools such as COMSOL or similar Familiarity with Klippel R&D measurement systems Solid grasp of sound radiation fundamentals and room acoustics Excellent verbal and written communication skills 5-7 years of experience in a comparable role Preferred: Experience using the Klippel QC system Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, or Catia Exposure to other audio and electronic test tools (e.g., Audio Precision, MLSSA, SoundCheck, Clio) Understanding of DFMA, DFMEA, and general FMEA practices Lead Transducer Engineer Salary & Benefits Salary dependent on experience Company pension.
