Join our Comfy Group Engineering Team We're looking for an experienced and motivated individual to take on a permanent weekend shift, helping drive and maintain our production.

About the role
The Mechanical Maintenance (TPM) Engineer is responsible for maximising equipment reliability and uptime through effective planned maintenance, defect elimination, and the application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles across the manufacturing site.
The jobholder will play a key role in maintaining machinery to optimum performance standards while driving TPM best practices across our large manufacturing site.
Job Role Requirements
* Adopt a hands-on approach to machine maintenance
* Maintain and lubricate textile equipment
* Conduct servicing in line with planned maintenance schedules
* Identify sources of contamination and implement preventative measures
* Expose and identify defects prior to minor rectifications
* Improve difficult-to-clean areas to reduce maintenance time
* Rectify minor mechanical issues and report outstanding faults
* Provide feedback and suggestions to improve mechanical reliability
* Ensure machinery and working areas are left clean and safe
* Ensure guarding is functioning and correctly positioned
* Contribute ideas and support TPM continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with Health & Safety requirements, including isolation/LOTO and machine guarding standards
What will you need?
* Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or time-served equivalent)
* Experience working in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair capability
* Experience with bearings, shafts, belts, conveyors, drives, and pneumatic systems
* Experience working with planned preventative maintenance systems
* Understanding of TPM / continuous improvement methodologies
* Ability to analyse equipment failures and support reliability improvements
* Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within manufacturing environments
