Job Purpose:
Responsibilities
1. Design and qualification of a HAPS production system using Manufacturing System Engineering tools and processes, including cellular production approach, lean process flow, line balancing, capital investment items, factory layout, and simulation.
2. Deliver shop floor requirements to the HAPS Facilities Management team.
3. Create or modify MRP system shop floor routings, job card definitions, shopfloor standard operating instructions (SOIs), and quality care cards.
4. Prepare technical dossiers and support procurement activities, supply chain monitoring, and make versus buy decisions, including benchmarking.
5. Provide technical problem solving and support to production and supply chain, applying APQP as appropriate.
6. Perform Design For Manufacture (DFM) and Design To Cost (DTC) studies, providing input to design teams.
7. Liaise with MGSE, jigs & tools design, manufacture, calibration, and maintenance.
8. Enable a “Right First Time” quality culture through business systems and feedback loops.
Experience and Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in a Manufacturing Systems Engineering role.
2. Knowledge of aircraft or space equipment production, assembly, wiring, avionic system installation, and testing techniques.
3. Experience creating, standardizing, or improving production systems, teams, and facilities.
4. Proven ability to solve technical operational issues.
5. Ability to work effectively in a multi-function team and matrix organization.
6. IT and CAD skills.
