Overview

As a Principal Supportability Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will lead the development and delivery of Integrated Product Support (IPS) solutions across complex defence programmes, ensuring supportability is embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
* Manage and coach a team of IPS Leads and specialists to develop support solutions across programme workstreams.
* Champion the integration of IPS elements such as Maintenance, Training, Supply Support, and Technical Data into the product lifecycle.
* Act as Cost Account Manager (CAM), overseeing labour demand, spend, and risk reporting.
* Contribute to business growth through lessons learned, bid activities, and capability development.
This position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites.
The role is full time, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements: 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience in developing Integrated Product Support (IPS) solutions.
* Strong analytical skills to evaluate technical issues and propose solutions.
* Experience in leading or supporting technical investigations and continuous improvement.
* Ability to guide and mentor team members.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline with demonstrable experience.
* Chartership or working towards chartership.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
