How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Farm Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding livestock caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the farm team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
Working Pattern
- 12-month fixed-term contract
- Full-time role of 40 hours per week, happy to consider part time applications over 30+ hours per week
- Four 10-hour days, 8:30am–6:30pm
- 1 in 4 out-of-hours rota
- 1 in 4 weekend rota
- Rota commitment reduces slightly during quieter summer months
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
- A Veterinary degree and registration, or eligibility to register, with the RCVS
- Experience working in farm animal practice
- TB testing qualification
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with farming clients and colleagues
- Confidence working in an ambulatory role, including sole charge and emergency work
- Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
