The successful candidate will be based at the head office inLisburnbut will also be required to travel acrossScotlandandSouthern Irelandto ensure the highest standards ofHealth, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) complianceare maintained.About the Role:As theHSE Officer, you will play a pivotal role insafety management, overseeing all aspects ofhealth and safety complianceacross multiple project sites. You will work closely with theOperations ManagerandDirectorto maintain asafe and clean working environmentfor all employees. This role offersautonomy,while providing strongsupport from leadershipto help advance your career in health and safety.Key Responsibilities:
* Health and Safety Management:Communicate and review the company'sHSE policieswith staff, conduct weeklytoolbox talks, and support HSE presentations and training events.
* Safety Audits & Reporting:Managesafety management databases, conduct site audits, and ensure accurate and timelyincident reporting.
* Process Improvement:Lead problem-solving initiatives that contribute to process enhancements, ensuring all HSE issues are addressed promptly.
* Emergency Preparedness:Own and periodically review the regionalemergency preparednessprocedures to ensure they meet regulatory standards.
* Regulatory Compliance:Provide continuous guidance onHealth and Safety regulationsand ensure compliance withindustry standardsandgovernment regulations.
* Team Leadership:Work with business leaders to ensure proper implementation of health and safety changes and regulations across all project sites.
Key Requirements:
* Experience:Minimum 5-10 years of progressiveHSE experience, in the Civilengineering,pipeline, orutility sector.
* Regulatory Knowledge:Proven experience in dealing withregulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal clients to ensure fullHSE compliance.
* Communication Skills:Strong ability tocommunicate effectivelywith diverse groups, includingmanagement,clients, and thegeneral public.
* Problem-Solving:Ability toanalyseandinterprettechnical procedures andsafety regulations, and present clear recommendations for safety improvements.
* Technical Ability:Experience in usingsafety management softwareand a strong understanding ofHSE reporting.
* Leadership & Autonomy:Proven track record of working independently and managing health and safety processes at multiple sites.
Qualifications:
* NEBOSH Diplomaor similarHSE certificationis preferred.
* Strong understanding ofHealth, Safety, and Environmentallegislation and best practices.
* Experience insite-specific safety plansand contributing to large-scale project delivery teams.
* Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure environments.
