Opportunity
As a Product Procurement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in representing the Category and managing part sourcing, development and quality feedback loops across New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI). You will work closely with internal stakeholders from engineering and procurement teams, and directly communicate with our supply base to ensure parts are delivered with the right quality, cost, and timing.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, maintain, and report category‑specific KPIs to Category and Program Leadership.
* Collaborate with design control engineering, value chain engineering, procurement, quality, and supply chain teams to define and implement global product supply strategies aligned with category management.
* Drive Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) through cost modelling, design‑for‑manufacturability, and effective use of supplier capability.
* Operate as part of a global team to develop and implement standardised processes across sourcing, quality improvement, cost management, and capacity assessment.
* Manage quality feedback loops, ensuring lessons learned from defects and issues are documented, shared, and consistently applied across the supply base.
* Represent Category status at NPI and APQP gateways, working directly with suppliers and Quality & Procurement teams to resolve quality, cost, and delivery issues and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
* Effective communications with suppliers and cross‑functional stakeholders, influencing technical and commercial decisions while maintaining alignment on quality, cost, and timing.
* Strategic mindset: developing, managing and executing the category strategy, including policies, agreements, source catalogues, and special procurement programs.
* Cost and Quality Benefit Analysis: recognizing opportunities for cost decreases, inventory reductions, and quality improvement; supporting Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
* Risk Assessment: responsibility for soundness of business proposals, risk assessment, and escalation to Category Leadership.

* Works directly with suppliers to support part development, manage quality and delivery issues, and ensure parts meet specification, escalating higher‑risk concerns where required.
* Making informed sourcing and supplier decisions by weighing cost, contractual terms, risk exposure, and long‑term value to protect quality, delivery, and commercial outcomes.
* Applying quality standards, governance, and continuous‑improvement methods to ensure consistent product quality and supplier performance.
* Anticipating and factoring governmental, environmental, political, and geographic influences into sourcing decisions to strengthen resilience and mitigate supply risk.
