Job Summary
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the overall operations of the food and beverage department. This position involves overseeing daily activities, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, and providing exceptional service to guests. Responsibilities
* Assist in managing the food and beverage operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Supervise kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to maintain efficient service and high-quality food production.
* Participate in food preparation and cooking, demonstrating culinary skills while training team members.
* Ensure proper food safety practices are adhered to at all times, including storage, handling, and preparation of food items.
* Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Manager to develop menus that reflect current trends and guest preferences.
* Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
* Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
* Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction with their dining experience.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a restaurant or hotel environment, with a strong understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Previous supervisory or team management experience is essential for this role.
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cuisines and food safety standards.
* Excellent leadership abilities, capable of motivating a diverse team while maintaining high service standards.
* Experience as a barista or in beverage service is an advantage.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
