Flexible – set by the General Manager
🔑 Key Responsibilities :
As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the full operation of the club and ensuring it runs at peak performance every day. This includes:
* Leading, motivating, and managing a team of fitness professionals and front-of-house staff
* Driving business performance through memberships, PT revenue, and secondary spend sales
* Taking ownership of member satisfaction and delivering exceptional customer service
* Maintaining and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation throughout the facility
* Managing the day-to-day operations of the club including rotas, stock, and facility maintenance
* Overseeing recruitment, staff development, and performance reviews
* Implementing sales strategies and contributing to local marketing initiatives
* Ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and company procedures
* Reporting on KPIs and supporting senior management in strategic decisions
* Representing GymWorks positively in the local community and building strong relationships with partners
✅ Requirements :
This is a hands‑on leadership role that requires someone with strong operational and industry‑specific experience.
Essential :
* Experience as a manager or team leader in a busy environment
* Background in the fitness industry
* Level 2 Gym Instructor & Level 3 Personal Trainer qualifications
* Proven experience in sales and hitting targets
* Strong customer service and people management skills
* A valid DBS check (or willing to provide one)
* Full UK driving license
Desirable :
* First Aid certification
