SEN Teacher Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEN pupils.
· Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to track and support student progress.
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
· Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies to deliver coordinated support.
· Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SEND best practices and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
· Support pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development.
SEN Teacher Requirements
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
· Experience working with children with a range of special educational needs.
· Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and effective support strategies.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
