The Dumfries and Galloway Mental Health AHP Team are seeking a Band 7 Highly Specialist Mental Health Dietitian with a clinical specialism in Eating Disorders.
Job Purpose
The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working as a clinical specialist, managing a caseload of highly complex patients through expert assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.
They will have both clinical and professional responsibility for their area of practice.
They will act independently to provide a comprehensive specialist service, including highly specialist interventions, assessments, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral, and discharge to a complex range of patients.
They will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team and support high-level decision making.
The post holder will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient-centered care and optimize outcomes.
They will be responsible for introducing new innovative ideas, approaches, and processes.
They will aim to maximize service provision, increase focus on health promotion, and support self-management.
The post holder will provide expert support and education for health professionals, relatives, and carers within and outside the service.
They will be responsible for maintaining and improving clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in their service area, in conjunction with the AHP Service Manager, AHP Lead (Mental Health), and Mental Health AHP Team Leaders, with responsibility for clinical and staff governance issues.
The post holder will implement research, conduct audits, and develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies, and clinical governance.
