Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent with qualifications in, or relevant to, Town and Country Planning;
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the preparation and co-ordination of planning applications and liaising with local planning authorities;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Demonstrable experience of being able to work as part of a multi -disciplinary project team and on an individual basis with minimum supervision;
* Demonstrable experience of the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure;
* In addition to working in to the TCPA regime, demonstrable experience of S36 and DCO regimes;
* Full UK Driving licence and comfortable with regular travel to the South of England, sometimes at short notice;
* Chartered status of the RTPI or IEMA;
* Experience of working on renewable energy projects, particularly wind;
* Working knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessments.
Overall Objectives
To develop project planning strategy and design
Support the Planning Director on a range of projects, preparing applications and securing approvals.
Collaborate with project teams to develop planning strategies and designs at various stages.
Prepare and coordinate planning appeal submissions.
Monitor and respond to national and local authority consultations.
Research and report on development issues affecting company activities.
Conduct site surveys and report observations related to planning matters.
Preparation, Co-ordination and Delivery of Planning Requirements
Prepare and deliver planning requirements such as screening/scoping opinions, applications, EIAs, appeals, and secure necessary permissions and consents.
Manage specialist consultants in planning, renewables, environmental, and research areas.
Collaborate with Project Managers to provide planning strategy, scope, timelines, and cost advice.
Support operations team with planning guidance for ongoing site requirements.
To work with Local Planning Authorities, Statutory Consultees and Communities
* Liaise with planning authorities, key agencies and other consultees ensuring that their information requirements are met and to secure their support for OnPath’s projects and activities;
* Assist in community liaison, attend exhibitions and meetings; and
* Develop lasting relationships with planning authorities and other organisations with the aim of widening and maintaining our information and contacts base to support the company's activities.
